The Book of Azathoth, or the Black Book, is described as a "book of prodigious size" and is signed in blood by those going to serve the throne of Azathoth at the centre of ultimate chaos. The Black Man seems responsible for persuading humans like Keziah Mason and Walter Gilman to sign (HPL: "The Dreams in the Witch-House").
