Overview[]

Established in 1999 by Derrick Hussey, Hippocampus Press publishes the works of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, as well as that of his literary circle and even some of his influences. In addition, they produce a number of periodicals and non-fiction works related to the horror genre, and have published a large selection of work from more contemporary authors such as Franklyn Searight, Ramsey Campbell, Ann K. Schwader and Thomas Ligotti, among others.

Hippocampus also publish a line titled Lovecraft's Library, which reprints "works that Lovecraft himself read and admired, and that he commented upon in his letters or elsewhere". Each of the books also features an introduction and commentary by scholars in the field [1].
