Othuum , also known as The Oceanic Horror, is a Great Old One from the Cthulhu Mythos inspired by the works of H. P. Lovecraft.
Overview[]
Othuum was first mentioned but never seen in Brian Lumley's short story "Rising with Surtsey".
Later, Chaosium included the entity in the Call of Cthulhu monster manual Malleus Monstrorum, where it is theorised that it look like its servitor Pesh-Tlen: a twisting rope-like monstrosity covered in tentacles with a singular alien face in the middle of squirming, ropy mass.
