Berglund, featured cover art by Karel Thole, and ran to a total of 288 pages. This edition was also translated into French (as Les adorateurs de Cthulhu) and German (as Cthulhu's Kinder).

In February 1996, Call of Cthulhu publisher Chaosium released The Disciples of Cthulhu: Second Revised Edition as part of their Cthulhu Cycle, once again edited by Berglund, but with two of the original stories ("The Feaster from Afar" and "Zoth-Ommog") were removed and replaced (with "Dope War of the Black Tong" and "Glimpses").
